Boot Defragment in Windows XP:

1. Open Registry Editor.

2. Navigate to following Registry Key.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Dfrg\BootOptimizeFunction

3. In the Right Panel look for the option Enable and if you want to set enable modify the value as Y and if you want to disable set the value to N

4. Reboot your PC.

Note:

Editing the Registry will cause the System unstable. Please take a Proper Back-Up before editing with Registries. Author will not be responsible for any liabilities.

boot freagment can be easily done with our editing the registry

go to command prompt and type

defrag c:

this will deframent ur disk

but make sure all the programs are shut during this process windows doesnot defrafment the files currently running
